What does the perfect glove feel like?

I'm a devout glove user and have been for a long time now. But, if you prefer the feel of playing without a glove and that works for you, stick with it.

My hands get sweaty and while I loved the feel of no glove when they were dry, that never lasted long and then it got just too sticky feeling when my hands were clammy. That lead me to the glove thing because I wanted more consistency, even at the sacrifice of a bit of feel.

A quality glove does make a difference, I've tried some cheap gloves and they're fine but they definitely seemed to mute the feel more than a quality glove, the material was thicker and shiny/slick and I didn't care for it.

These days I'm using a Predator glove with the cuff cut off because I don't like the cuff part and I really like it, good fit and feel and has lasted as good as any glove I've tried.

Finally an answer. TY. High Quality Glove = Thinner = More Feeling

Is there another glove besides the Predator for cheaper while still having the same thinness? Also, with an open bridge does the shaft rest on the raw skin of your thumb or on the glove? sounds like a terrible Idea to cut the finger tips off... some closed bridge positions also require your index finger tip to touch the shaft too. Maybe not for those with really long fingers.

Tiger knows what I am talking about. Anyone tried this brand? I can't find any other quality brands that cover the important finger tips.

Recall years ago I use to buy for resale glove from Sterling Gaming, could retail them for $5.00. They were made well, people liked, and the lasted well.

What do today's super glove cost retail.

CPBA and HOW gloves are top of the pile for comfort, playability and simple design.
Tips for longevity:
- never undo the velcro.
- thin super glue around the glove pad
- wash inside your trouser pocket once a month

Style wise, 3seconds look best. Not as comfortable, the thumb is too short and the black lining is prone to getting nicks or holes in it.

There's a new Chinese brand called "handmade" that look reasonable, will post a photo when I got a minute. They are using this plastic alternative to velcro with too latch points. Not tried it, but looks comfortable and simple (though the colors currently available are very in your face)

Yes, to me I don't even know that I have them on while paying.
With the $1 glove it kind of felt that way to me. But i was frequently reminded of it every time I went to the bathroom, ate, packed up, or washed my hands. Some times I missed shots and wondered if it was my glove.

Haven’t come across a cheaper glove I like as much as Predator or Kamui, both are great and last me a year or more so I’m fine spending $30/year or whatever, so I also have my really tried hard to find one.

The finger tip thing is interesting, have the open tips makes pulling balls out of the pocket way easier and just leaves everything feeling more dexterous. There are times where skin makes contact with the shaft sometimes, but it’s usually small enough of a contact area that it doesn’t really bother me.

I will only buy open finger tips now, having tried both, but neither is perfect.

Good arguments. But you brought up another one of my worries... Pulling balls out of pockets or ball returns with my glove hand, chalking with or over my glove hand, and placing my glove hand on the table cloth. seems like we would be imbedding a lot of sand into the glove. If you have a carbon fiber shaft this must be rapidly deteriorating the smooth glide factory finish?

Not a problem for me, haven’t noticed my glove getting overly chalky at all and when it does start feeling dirty I just toss it in the washing machine and then let it air dry. While I don’t notice chalk collecting on the glove, the part that touches the table the most is the palm and that part doesn’t touch the cue during a shot so kinda just a non-issue

Becue gloves, my favorite, tried several others went back to Becue for the last year and half

I also am a late member of the glove wearing group , mine came from Mike Gulyassy , it has open finger tips and fits very well and the price is $ 25.00

I love how all the professionals on here keep down playing gloves when 99% of all the "real" professionals wear one. If you want a consistent smooth stroke every time use a glove. If you have sweaty, clammy, or really dried out hands...use a glove. They're great. Seems like some of these old times are afraid of change...
