2 weeks ago I was shooting great for me at least. apa SL4 with a 67% win ratio.

Then last night of the session I lost but my team did great and we had a good time. 2 nights later I get a call and am told we got in the playoffs on a wild card.

Since then I went from 3,4,5 balls with a very rare B&R to a blind guy. I miss shots from everywhere. I miss a lot. I might make a hard cut then blow the next ball with it practically being in the pocket. When I get down on the shot things don't even look right. It feels like I took a stupid pill. Its very aggravating. I choked at the playoffs. I am not even sure about starting the next session.

You're probably just going through a slump. It happens to everyone, don't worry about it. Quitting is not the answer. Try not playing for a week or 2 if you haven't tryed that. Sometimes you just need a break. I've shot some of my best pool when I hadn't practiced for awhile. Good luck breaking out!

Sometimes we start to improve and shoot better or at a higher level. Then we go back down to are normal speed and feel like we are shooting poorly. This is a good thing bc you are on the brink of shooting better more consistantly. keep at it and best of luck :)

Take a short break might help but I think you have probably started doing something different and it has evolved into a bad habit and you are not lined up properly or something has changed for the worst. GO back to basics, have a knowledgable player look you over and help you get it going again, whatever you do donot stop long term you can overcome a slump and get on the next level. Good luck.

Yeah, you should quit. Maybe the game is just not for you. NOT We all have our ups and downs. Some people say take a break. I can't. I just play through it. I've always come out of it and back to normal.( Which ain't that great to begin with!) If your not shooting that well ,try to find other ways to win. Good time to practice defense. Also, stick to higher percentage shots only. That's a good idea anyway. But don't give up.
You'll be a better player for it.

Just wondering how long have you been playing and what is a apa SL4 ?
Im not familiar with the apa.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am not quitting the game I was just considering skipping a session while I played in the basement to figure this out.

elvicash you may be right. I may need to get someone to watch me shoot but if if their style is different than mine will they recognize my fault?

8pack a SL4 is a skill level 4 out of a possible 7 in 8 ball. so about average. I felt I was on the verge of becoming a 5 or at least a strong 4. Now its more like a 3 and some games a 2.
