Anyone tried this ?

full speed out of this world break, but no ball(s) to hit... or just have 1 ball in the spot

will it fly ?
will it hit 8 rails ?

depends on whether the cue ball is in mid air when it hits anything. if it is, it'll most likely go airborne. if it does stay on the table and there's no balls you're hitting, it'll smash into the cushion, gradually creating a dead spot on the cushion, smack the wooden rail hard enough to make a noise, annoy other players around you, and the manager might ask you to stop or leave.

short answer is, "don't do it."

long answer is, "don't do it, dumb@$$."

Yes...normally the ball goes flying. If you don't like re-racking everytime, just rack 3 balls and then see if you can run them in order or not.

WILL IT SOMEHOW REBOUND AND HIT YOU IN THE HEAD?

LET'S HOPE SO

I was doing this the other day at a tourn. jus trying to practice up on having a straight stroke for breaking. The ball jus flys around couple rails. shouldn't come off the table unless you hit it as hard as you can i guess

There is a trick shot if you hit that kind of shot with running english, the ball will bounce back at you. How high and how far depend on the speed and degree of follow you put on it. If the cueball is sized correctly for the table/cushions and you hit it with no english, it should simply roll around the table til the momentum runs out.

Give it a try, and when you come back to conciousness from the rebounding blow of a cue ball to the chin; tell us how it felt.

I've seen a top Pro do this without even using a cue ball. He had one hell of a break, must have been clocked at well over 30MPH!
