What has brown done to you!

Worked in and around logistics for over 25 years.......

and UPS is no better or worse than the other "leaders" in package transport ! the fact is no one in the industry lacks dependency on the others.

UPS sucks big time ! If they don't lose it, they'll break it. Filing claims with them is a nightmare. I quit using them a long time ago. Never had a problem with U.S. Post Office.

I bought a huge art glass item on eBay from a person in CA. I paid a good chunk of money for this piece and was very anxious to see it arrive in one piece as it was my anniversary present to my hubby.

The seller answered my packaging Qs by saying that he would take it to UPS and have them package it.

I paid $160 for two-day air from CA knowing that the less time anyone has to handle a package, they better off it is.

The art glass was first wrapped in an ungodly amount of bubble wrap, then put in a box filled with styro popcorns. Then it was put into another box and packed with popcorns. Fragile was everwhere and Brown answered my email Qs and even honored my request with putting it on the back deck so it would be out of sight from the neighborhood.

That was $160 well spent! My figuring is, the less time they have with the item (and I did have it insured for the full amount of what I paid for it), the less time it takes to screw up something.

BTW, the package weighed 30 lbs at handling.

ups lost a shaft of mine and spent 4 weeks 'looking' for it before giving me ins for it. they found it and it was bent like crazy from sitting in sub zero temps for a month. took another couple weeks to get the ins money.

I agree that the fewer opportunities they have, the better. I'm glad that your piece arrived okay.

Cheers,
