When referring to cue what is a merry widow? I recently bought a Scruggs and the guy I bought it from said he didn't know it was a Merry Widow. ANY HELP GUYS.

There was thread not too long ago about this, it most commonly means a cue with no points or inlays in the forearm and buttsleeve, just solid wood. Can also be called a plain jane. No idea where the term comes from.

when you find a widow in a state of ecstacy after her swimming pool was cleaned by a hunk from cleaning service. :D

Don't alot of cuemakers core their cues these days? The type of wood on the outside doesnt matter since the cores are all the same.

Maybe some cuemakers can jump in here and tell us why the solid merry widow style cue is not a better hitting cue than a cue where the points are added in or the entire cue is cored.

After her husband died, a merry widow at my yacht club bought a new 35 foot sloop. Called it Legacy.:D
