Pool For Me......
Pool for me is my escape.......it gets me away from the challenges and stresses of everyday life and the realization that my life is now in the home stretch.
Now those of you that read this post under 50 yrs. old......won't comprehend the significance of that statement. For them, life is still a half full arrangement. But when you get older, and you've kept sipping from that same glass over the intervening years and you unexpectedly glance down and suddenly it dawns on you that glass is no longer half full.......it's getting low......much closer to the bottom than you'd prefer, like, or hope for.
So pool becomes a more cherished past time. It enables you to play a game that's literally timeless and you don't think about the aches and pains of old injuries anymore. You regain the passion for competition because you know that your experience and skills do matter. Furthermore, as long as you focus and remain focused......you can play in any ring game and not only hold your own but do some damage to others wallets.
I play for the oohs and aahs.........the applause and cudos for making a great shot or hard table run-out........Showing off your pool skills under competitive play.....for real hard cash...... that's what makes all the thousands and thousands of hours of play worth it.....the millions of pocketed balls all the more meaningful.......pool is both redeeming and rejuvenating when life is on the down side of the mountain.
"PLAY YOUR BEST OR PRAY YOU'RE THE LUCKIEST SOB AT THE TABLE."
