What is Simonis saying on their Timeline

The answer to this is likely buried somewhere in these threads but thought I'd just ask the straightforward question.
My cloth still has plenty of life.
Just wondering.
I'm also a little worried, since the so called "Standard of the Industry" is in trouble.
Are they going to survive with Snooker cloth and Aramith?
Maybe the Aramith Precision Bearings can carry them over the hump?

I have installed the new 860, and just received some of the new 860HR. The 860 I got looks, feels, and installs like the pre-flood stuff. They were massively back-ordered and it may still take a while for them to catch up, but I am relieved to see the quality is still there.

I've read they are as far as two years behind but have no evidence, merely internet words. I have a cut of 860HR I'm holding onto until my new rails get installed. Gonna wear this current 860 out completely.

But I'll use 860HR as long as they make it. Played on 3030 Tour quite a bit (which seems to be the current choice due to availability) and still like the 860 HR more.

How are they 'in trouble'???? They are getting past the flood and will be fine. You are WAY overstating any problems they may/may not have.

Sorry I'm not up to date with all things in cue sports like you are.

It seems its still hard to acquire Simonis cloth. That seems to be a problem.
Maybe inventory is back in shape. I just haven't heard anything like that yet.

Do some research.

That's what he is doing.... researching here.
Not really.

"The answer to this is likely buried somewhere in these threads but thought I'd just ask the straightforward question."

Sounds to me he wants to be spoon-fed more so than he's researching. He's lazy and doesn't value the exercise of self discovery. Doing a search here or Google for "Simonis Flood" would have given him the info he was searching for. Instead, he asked a question, it was answered, then incorrect statements started flowing. Statements that wouldn't have been made had a little digging been done.

What incorrect statements?

That was the OP's personal opinion. Maybe they are not in trouble, but a chunk of their market share took a hit. Not only the missed production, but some people are finding there are viable alternatives.... such as 3030. But that's my opinion.

His statement does't read like an opinion. Any marketshare loss will be short term at best. This is surely a minor setback for a company that's been around for almost 400 years.

No one thought Aramith would lose market share either. But they certainly have with the Dynaspheres on the market. The proof is in the various threads here on AZ.

Championship 3030 has been, and is, a viable alternative to Simonis. More people realize that now more then ever.

We're both pissing in the wind without metrics to back us up. Without seeing sales figures from Simonis or Aramith, we cannot say there's been market share loss from either company. It's pure speculation.

I am not swayed by cheap sets of pool balls, I will continue to buy the more expensive Aramith because I have yet to be disappointed with their products. The venues where I play pool also continue to stand by Aramith. If they lost market share I doubt it is very much, maybe not even noticeable.

And all this is just your opinion. Your opinion is valid. And I accept that. But there are scores of people on this forum alone that will disagree with you about the Dynosphere balls and 3030 cloth. They ARE viable alternatives. And there are a lot of people that have made the switch during the supply problems.

Look.. I'm not saying the Simona's cloth or Aramath balls don't have the quality they used to have. I'm not saying it at all. I'm saying there are viable Alternatives that have come to market, or have been there all along. Now whether you want to use them or not, that's completely up to you. But you're not going to convince anyone that your choices are the best for everyone. Best for you maybe.

And there could be a very good thing come of this.... competition may cause Simonis and Aramith to lower their prices a bit.

Simonis had a news update back in May saying they were back on-line. I just called a table mech. i know and he said he's getting back orders filled and a short(10day/2wk) delivery time of new orders. This whole 'the sky is falling' deal is laughable. Don't hold your breath on them lowering prices either.

At least certainly not with inflation out of control like it is.
