We have used several different Break Cues & J/B Cues, at our Tournaments & Trade show attendance. Players tend to turn away from the J/B Cues. I particularly like the Predator BK. That cue has been used by hundreds & hundreds of players & it still whacks Whitey right on down there. The Cue is still in nice condition too, after 4 years of Tournaments.
The players also like the Auerbach Custom Break Cue too, it is constructed with different technology than the Predator. The shaft is app'x 13.7, has a nice transition to the basic taper, a hard leather tip with a flatter radius & a steel Joint. That Cue has a great balance & some real column strength in the shaft.
At Valley Forge, the Pechauer folks sent over a cue for the players to try, it was awesome too... that Cue had a tremendous shaft & a great balance too. It was nice looking & had that Pechauer quality built in.
We also had a MEZZ Cue & lots of players liked that Cue, me too. It felt very good in my hands & had a great balance. It was a nice cocobola That hit like a shotgun slug.
Mike Gulyassy sent over a Sledgehammer & the players liked it too. It had an extremely good hit, but my stroke won't handle a Phenolic Tip .... too many bad hits for me... Joe Tucker hit it like aiming a rifle & pulling the trigger. Joe is 28 & I am 64.
There are lots of great Cues, but no Magic Wands. You still have to have a stroke & know what you are doing.
