The two best pool halls in the Minneapolis area, IMO, are Shooters and Billiard Street Cafe.

There is another one close to Shooters that I heard was good, but I never tried it. But I have been to both Shooters and BSC and they are great places to play.

Shooters is in Burnesville, I believe, which is South of Minneapolis and Billiard Street Cafe is up near Coon Rapids, which is North of Minneapolis.

Shooters is a great place just to play or find some action, whatever you're looking for. They also run some good weekly tournaments.

I guess it depends what you are looking for. Shooters is a great place and is always busy and has decent rates. I believe most of the their big tables are Gold Crowns. Q sharks is just down the road from Shooters and has Diamonds.

On the North side, Billiard Street Cafe has changed their name to Two Stooges Sports Bar. It is still more of a pool hall that a bar. I believe they added a bar and a bunch of TV's in there within the last year. You must absolutely stop by this place to at least check it out. It is amazing and Ty Wilson is one of the nicest guys around. I believe this was ranked very high as one of the United States nicest pool halls.

I went to Shooters a few weeks ago when I was in the area. I'm not an "action" player, so I can't comment on that. The place was fairly quiet on the Tuesday night I was there. It seems like a fantastic place, 7, 8, and 9 footers, LOT's of 'em! The food was good too!

Don't use the directions or address on their website. They admit that it's all incorrect. Just call them up and get directions.

Good luck and have fun.

Never been there, but, a friend of mine recently moved there. From what he has told me, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a place to play. There are tournaments going all the time, all around town. Sounds like others have given you some pretty good information though. Good Luck
