What is the playing surface on cloth...?

I dunno about the question, but i'm well aware that I have to play on quite a few RUGS around here... in no way shape or form can anyone call it felt without it being an insult to felt everywhere.

What I mean is that I have a new cloth that I want to install in my table. This cloth has not markings or any signal to know what is the side that goes up (or playing surface?). I want to know if there is a way to know which side is supposed to be the playing surface.

The fuzzier side goes down. Sometimes this is hard to tell. Also there should be a sticker on the cloth saying which side is up.

there should be a smooth side and a nappy side. it can be a little tough to tell on simonis 860, but if you look closely, you can see the difference. the side that is more nappy is not the playing surface.

I think it is a cheap cloth. I purchased it at fleabay, it came cut (6 pieces for rails and one big piece for the table), it looks ok...yes, a side is nappier than the other, so then the nappier side is not where the balls roll? Thanks!:o
