What is this splotching? Hazing?

Getting ready to do finish on this cue, and I wiped it down with mineral spirits and denatured alcohol, and these hazy white splotches started showing up on the mac ebony handle.

What the hell is this, and how do I get rid of it? I've finished a handful of cues before and I've never ran into this problem on bare wood.

Others will probably be more helpful but is your mineral spirits old and funky. I’ve seen gross caking with older and contaminated mineral spirits.

Not older than what's useable, it's clean and clear, and I've used it on a dozen cues up til this point.

This is really throwing me for a loop haha.
