agreeing with Guppie, my favorite would be my Justis 2 x 4 Prolite. Jack makes great cases, very sturdy leather as someone else said but with the money you are spending, I wouldnt want to be throwing the equipment around ;-)
I like Whitten's cases. I purchased a black 2x4 small-gator print with smooth black trim about 2 years ago and it pretty much looks brand new still. The craftsmanship is very good, and the quality of leather is top notch. His cases aren't the cheapest, but they will last you a very long time. I prefer the look of Whitten's as opposed to the heavily tooled cases. Whitten's have a simple elegance to them. These cases are streamlined and have a very contemporary feel to them. In my opinion, they are a very good buy at $405.
You really cannot go wrong with any of the popular case makers. But stay away from anything larger than 2x4, if at all possible. You don't need to carry around a collection of cues. Anything larger than a 2x4 and you come as a goofy pool player. I'm sorry, but we live a very pecuniary culture.
