What is your opinion of my cue (swerve/squirt)

Squirt is bad. It doesn't help on any normal shot (Efren's shot doesn't need squirt). Less squirt is better.

Swerve (small masse) is worse than squirt (less predictable, often greater effect), but you can't reduce it by changing sticks, only by (a) keeping your cue as level as possible, (b) using less sidespin and (c) not shooting too softly.

i agree, i dont know what either are and dont want to more to think about, and i'll bet i can beat most of the people out there that are experts in the concepts(well until last month), less is more. i accidentally opened this thread, just shoot the ball, when i stopped playing 14 years ago i never heard those words and Mark Tadd was playing perfect pool. do you think he cares about all this fancy marketing BS? no , neither do I.

Are you sure? I used mine, and it swerved. I changed and use his cue, and it didn't swerved. I changed back, and it swerved again. I changed again, and it stopped swerving. I tried it a few times, and it amazed me what I saw.

What you thought you saw. We probably are aware of only a fraction of the swerve that actually happens on most shots.

Yes, I'm sure. Both shots swerved, and by the same amount if you hit both shots the same way. My guess is that one of the sticks produces more squirt, so the squirt+swerve makes the cue ball end up in a different place, which looks to you like less swerve.

They say its not the cue but its you... imo however, the cue should some have qualities that are complimentary to your game. So the cue plays a big role too... your game, stroking should match the cue.

it's a matter of compensation and adjustment. once you get used to his cue, you wouldn't be complaining on how to play the shot with/without the squirt effect. if you're having some problems with the squirt, try hitting the CB faster. if you're still not able to manage the squirt, then don't use his cue.

cues differ from each other. it takes some time to adjust on the playability of the cue. difference in shaft, difference in tip used, tip size, cuestick construction and composition. that's why pool players only play with cues that they are familiar with.
