hi,
does anyone know what joints J&J cues use. (the playing cues, not the J/b)

ive got the D060, and as its my bday in a month, maybe i could convince my gf to buy me a Z² shaft for it, but i have no idea what joint to choose.

HEre in belgium the cheapest i could find was 225€, whats the best place to order a shaft in the us, let it ship and insure, and still find it cheaper?

ps what joint are the cocker and Shurtz custom cues made of usually? would be stupid to spend 200 bucks on a shaft i wont be able to use on my future cue.

edit; on ebay i found one for 230$ with shipping internationaly with usps. thats around 180€ would u advice me to let it ship or get it localy? when prices says shipped, i supose i still have to pay import taxes on it .. wich will then make the pricedifference even smaller and the waiting time to get it longer... what would u suggest?

Solly,

when buying something outside EU you have to add on that price+shipping amount about 25% for VAT and customs fees. So you just have to do some calculations.

I think your J&J cue has a 5/16 x 18 joint, but I'm not 100% sure.

Most (or all?) Coker cues have a 3/8-10 joint. Don't know about Schurtz..

thx peet and kev. i supose the tax is 21% like most of the things in belgium... mmm where's my calculator when i need it :p
kev, ok thx alot. mmm could i buy the z² with my J&J joint, and when changing to a custom, i can ask them to make the same joint. how difficult (expensive) is it to ask for example cocker to make them with the J&J type joint?

You suppose correctly, tax is 21% but then there's customs fee and that is between 3% and 4% and those together makes it very close to 25%. And don't forget that it's not only from price you pay but also from shipping costs.

mmmm then the lowest price is exactly the same price this shop sells them here.... so ok :) IF i can get my gf to buy one, ill buy it in belgium. alot faster, i can just drive there.
