What kind/brand of Mechanics Level to level a Pool Table

You can level a pool table slate/slates with a pool ball.
A pool ball rolling slowly on slate without clothe will show you the unlevelness of the slate, the levelness of joints, ...

Or you can spend $100 for a machinist level.

for the homeowner rolling balls will be better than a single level. depending on how particular he is.

and go over the slate joints as thats where they often mess up and leave bumps as well as putting down the cloth before the slate is perfectly clean.

If it's a ProAm, I would bet my life that it doesn't roll absolutely perfect. You probably just haven't noticed the subtleties. I'm not knocking you, by any means... Most people don't notice the subtle drifts.

A ProAm has a plywood cabinet. It will move, throughout the seasons. I have a 9' ProAm, in my shop. It moves quite a bit, despite being in a controlled environment, on a concrete floor. The rolls may not be super noticeable, when playing. However, the levels don't lie. And, if you really take a close look, with a few slow-rolling balls, you'll see some drift.
I’ve had it for 3 years .. I play every day and have been for over 30 years. So I’m not “most people” who get a table and hardly use it. Lol You can slow roll a ball in any direction you want and it doesn’t drift even the slightest. nothing is 100% perfect because we live in the world lol but I’ve never seen anything when I’m playing. Plus I always start and end my day with the drill off slow rolling the ball the length of the table and back to the tip of my cue to test my stroke. Again .. it the ball never wavers. Which amazes me because when I got it It was put on carpet. The gentlemen had it leveled perfect but I assumed once It settled on the carpet it would need adjusted but nope .. nothing. Maybe I just got lucky .
My last house when I had a valley and it was on 125 year old wood floors that yeah .. you could drive a truck across and not damage it but from season to season they didn’t slightly change and the one leg I would have to move slightly up or slightly down .
