Hi folks :)

I've got a question:
What kind of camera [camcorder] should I use to record my pool table while I'm practising ?

In my pool room I 've got walls in 170 and 190 cm from 9ft table, ceiling is in 220 cm from floor, and I've got 4 light lamp

I would love to get that kind of angle like on picture below in quality 480p or higher

So what kind of product would you recommend me ?

My video equipment setup

Just about any video or smart camera works. Most cameras nowadays will do continuous standard video (9:6 or 4:3) and mine can do 60 frames per second bursts.

Both types have tripod base connections.

You need an electric plugin with a video camera, but can use a smart camera's battery for up to 45-60 minutes of recording time.

When teach students, I use a video camera. This is great for capturing their fundamentals. Afterwards, the video is burned to a CD or DVD directly from the video camera.

I use the smart camera for tightly focused table-level shots. The 60 fps burst feature is used to capture CB action (see "Secrets of Aiming with Side Spin" video. The case contains two memory cards and two batteries.

Two tripods are a good idea: a floor model and a mini-model to put on the table.

use a tablet

We have used ipads, or android tablets to stream and record matches. Use them if you have one

GoPro is nice but is also expensive.

What would you recommend up to $95 which picture would be similar to Sony HDR-CX190 ?

I just need it to install it permanently for pool table, something what will give me nice picture ?

You can get a great HD camcorder for general video for under $100. I have a Kodak one I got for like $50. GoPro has a lot of features including ability to remote control from your iPhone.

But the two issues that come up are (1) enough storage space and (2) getting the video off in a usable format. If you use an iPhone, you can get the video almost immediately and send it to youtube, facebook, whatever, but you are limited in space. Some phones have expandable memory. With most stand alone cameras, you will have lots of space (just put in another card), but you may have to download, then process before you can upload to youtube etc. Personally, I've always used the stand alone camera.

There are a lot of options. I think they'll all work with varying degrees of ease and usability.

You Smart Ass! I have an iPad on my lap and a sandwich in my right hand and I'm trying to blow a flea off my screen and the little bastard won't move. So then I'm trying to flick it off with my finger and I can't quite get it so then I start blowing at it again. Smart Ass!

Unless you already have your mind set on a particular model. I usually go on Youtube and check for videos others have posted using the camera models(s) you're interested in. Try to look for videos that match the conditions as close as possible. Meaning, don't look at a video of a bright sunny day if you're planning on using it mostly indoors (bars, poolhalls, concerts).

let's say $100

I've got HTC sensetion se, ans samsung galaxy tab.2 10,1 and they both recording very nicely, but the thing is, I wanted a camera which I could install in my pool room worrying then someone will call my and It will stop recording, plus SG tab2 recording in HD but it is not that HD which I looking for :grin-square:

GoPro is great, my friend got it and it does give you great picture, but is very expensive... that's the only issue..

So I decided, and also bought Panasonic HX DC3 HD plus i bought 175 cm Tripod for it and 64gb SD card. We shall see what picture I will recive, but I have to say then I'm very excited about it. On Youtube I found some shots made by it, and I was impressed :grin-square:
Also Tripod will be very handy.

I will defenetly share [here, in this thread] with you the results which I get.

Thanks everyone for help.
