What kind of cue do you play with?

My custom cue was made by Dan Jacobs. He makes cues in Arizona. His son is on joined our APA team. He showed us some cues hid dad built. I tried one out and like the hit and the thinner handle. I ordered one about a month later. I had these option choices. length, weight, shaft diamater, shaft taper, type of ferrule, length of ferrule, type of tip, irish linen wrap leather wrap or no wrap. Using those choices I got a cue that hit and felt great in my hand. The ability to pick my woods and design was a bonus to me. You can buy one already made or have him make you one. It's up to you. I met Dan when he came to town to visit his son. He told me his cues are guarenteed as long as he lives.

I ain't gonna tell ya, you gotta come and find out for yourself.
Best Regards, Don
PS: I will tell ya I got a 3 butt seven shaft Instroke buffalo case that holds a jump butt in the side pocket and a Ladysmith in the top pocket.

I play with Cuetec Starlight 5 Prong Series cue, weight 19 and I have only this cue for now.

I have 3 cues, Jacoby, Pechaur and a Stonier, but I only carry one with me, the Jacoby. My Jacoby is very plain, no points with a leather wrap. I'm not into looking good, I'm into playing good. I'm always working on this one and maybe some day I'll finally get there, hopefully before I'm counting daisies.

I respect your kind of a player, Rickw. Simple and mean shooting. But I also look at the esthetics of tha cue stick, provided that it is playable. I appreciate the artistry by some masters. Hand-made precise points, concise symmetry, and beautiful designs and material. I like cleaning my cue stick and sliding it back in my case, short of ordering it to give me a good time in its next trip out of the case.

Sputnik,

I agree. I like nice cues and have more than most retailers. Like Rickw I choose to shoot with a very plain looking cue(you can see it and some of the others in the cue gallery). The plain SW I shoot with is far from the most expensive that I have a choice of and most players don't even know what it is. The reason I like it is that it doesn't draw attention and it is also the best playing cue I have ever held in my hands. I played with Meucci from the time they came out until the 80's when quality fell. I still like my old Meucci's and if all else fails I will still revert back to one. :)

hig3 plays with a custom Lambros W/ultra joint, break/jump cue is a Queen custom from Jacksonville, Fl. and I'm primarily jumping with my own design, a prototype called "The Solution" that is going to be "HOT" when it hits the market! 3-butt/6-shaft case by Giuseppi.

i have two single cases,
i have a minnesota fats 20 oz cue, 13 mm shaft diameter.
i also have a pinnacle (cheap one) 19 oz cue, its shaft is around 12.5-12.75 mm, brunswick tip and ivory ferulle.
my favorite cue, an aska cue, its a 19 oz, 13 mm one. its tip and ferulle is the one that came with it, i havent changed it yet. its 20$ only but it definitely looks good, shoots great, and applies english pretty good. i noticed that a slight raising of the butt would make the ball masse, which was not noticeable with my other cues. i feel i am now on the right track to being a future pro player....:D
here i come guys....:D

I have two "old" Kersenbrocks (1977). Dave made one for me using my specs, and the other I picked up a couple of years later.
I just sold my Josswest (1975) to a good friend last year. I also use a Prather and Sierra once in a while.

I play with a DZ(Dzuricky) I've tried several others but it feels best,it's not a fancy one but he makes those also. I would reccommend one to anyone!

I just ordered a DZ cue and should have it just before Christmas. It's a beauty and runs about $1200.
