What kind of material?

There are different types of phenolic, as well as different processes of manufacturing phenolics.
The customer stated they wanted a 1 and 1-1/4 inch black phenolic ferrule on their Meucci solid maple shaft and taken down to 11.5mm like their other one with a Predatorvictorytip . I asked for a picture because I told them that putting a big piece of phenolic at the end would probably make it hit a lot worse. This is the picture they sent me, which I do see on some break cues ( production) never knew what this material was and I've never been able to order phenolic from Atlas that look like this.

Would linen or paper look like this?
I've always went with canvas because that was suggested to me on here years ago and never had issue with it. But this is going to be for a playing cue so it doesn't have to withstand breaks and jumps.

The finish on the turned diameter certainly does, imo.I'm not a Cue-Maker, but that black material damn near looks like carbon-fiber to me...
Carbon fiber or canvas phenolic.From this picture, can anybody tell me what kind of material this is? The customer says it's phenolic, but it's not like any phenolic I buy from Atlas. Thanks in advance.

It's not carbon fiber.. it's too black. Looks like black phenolic.
