Had trouble find a replacement. What kind of pin is this? Is there a look-a-like in black g-10?

This looks like a 3/8 acme thread pin and you would have to have a G-10 pin custom made to match it. That will be expensive..

Will a regular 3/8 x 10 pin fit into these shafts or are the threads different and it needs an acme pin?

Looks like a standard 3/8-10 but the pic is fuzzy. Do the tops of the threads come to a point/rounded or are they flat?

Then it is probably a 3/8 -10 standard. I would guess a regulat g-10 3/8 10 pin would fit. However I would not change that one unless it is a cheap cue. That will change your balance point and the feel of the cue.

Thank you for all your suggestions; I've been learning a lot from everyone here. I'll end up changing the pin because it's a bit off center to begin with.

I have to agree with Chris. That sure looks like an Acme thread to me.

Can't rule out the possibility it is a flat bottomed job from atlas. Q-street do you have a McD or Viking laying around? They did some 3/8-10 could see if the threads on the joint protector match up before trying to screw into shaft.

I had a 3/8 x 10 KC cue before and the cue fits these shafts. I use 3/8 x 10 jps for this cue as well. There's a bit of wobble as I screw the jp's in, but it's snug in the end. I'll try looking for a similar pin or install a new pin and change the shafts too.

If the pin is a little off center, wouldn't your shafts be a little off center as well to compensate? You may make things worse by centering the pin. The shafts may not match the butt anymore afterwards.

The shafts stick out a tee bit when screwed together. There's also a ding on the threads of the butt, so changing the pin would be ok. Recenter pin and rematch shafts and redo wrap cause it wasn't put on too well. You could play with all these little probs, but it's a annoying and difficult to trade w/ in the future.

What would really help are some focused pics...to me it looks like a 3/8 x 10 self centering pin...

KC uses an odd pin. KC uses a 3/8-12 just to let you know.
