I've been told rosewood or pau ferro so far.

None of the wenge I have looks like that. What I have is more solid and darker brown.

How about a clearer picture. It's a little blurry when zooming in.

Pau Ferro is also known as Bolivian, or Santos Rosewood. I've also heard it referred to as Morado. Pau Ferro is not a Dalbergia, or "true" rosewood if my memory serves, but it is sort of a rosewood "cousin."

I found the original sale thread when I bought that cue. It was listed as Brazilian Rosewood. But hard to say where that info originated. Somewhere I got Pau Ferro in my head...I agree Cory probably would know best.

The forearm is cored with maple.

I agree with @j2pac. That looks a lot like Pau Ferro. Nice cue wood and no CITES issues.
