It all starts with a child like spirit, a love of the game, a gift from above and a vision and dream that you can be the Best!

Please add your thoughts on Greatness and I will certainly do the same.

Christina just e-mailed me an out of sight photo of Dave and I have posted it below. Too cool!! You guys & girls have have to see this photo.

Thanks!

Love of the game, because it takes time.
Knowledge of the basic physics in the game.
A good vision and understanding of the layout of a table.
Steady hands and a good eye for detail.

I'm an athlete and have suffered many injuries over the years so my muscles slightly shake normally, or else I could be a great player. I hate to say it but if you want to see me play great pool, give me two to four shots of alcohol, no more. My hands will be steady and nerves aren't a consideration. Greatness comes from players that can do this without use of any outside factor.

I'm not saying that without alcohol I'm not good, because I'll run racks without the aid but with it, I'm much better. As in I'll be the only one on the table until I get bored and start making myself work by taking tough shots(complicated caroms, masse, complex jumps, multiple rail shots, etc).

you cant train what God left out.

you have to be gifted to be a champion, anyone with alot of hard work can become a B player.

The importance of the Break, by Dave Piona

Here is where we all begin, the child within us! A dream a vision, powerful stuff. Never give up on your dream!

I forgot to mention, when I went into the West American Bank in the "Gt. Memorial Service for Dave Piona" thread, to the right of the teller on a shelf there was a plastic "Star" about 4" x 4" and it was filled up with water and in the background there was a message written in color, "NEVER GIVE UP." The "Star" just happens to be Dave's daughter's name as well. Apparently, the star came from Wal Mart and I am going to buy one today if they still have one.
