What makes you lose your cool?

Dickheads who ask me if I want to play and I say "yeah" race to 10 for $200 and then they try to hit me with race to 10 for $500. That's when I say, "screw you, do you want to play or not? Some people are pieces of sh!t. They don't really want to play they want to flash their money.

I know what you mean. I always had this guy saying "you're just a youngster, you don't have it in you to play me for money", and he'd always use to piss me off. I can easily beat this guy, but never had cash on the line when playing him. He'd pull out a big wad of cash from his pocket all the time (all 100's), until one day, I finally told him we'd play a single game (that's right, 1 game) for $500. I had about a $1,000 in my pocket so I wasn't sweating it. You know what he did? He flaked out on me! All those months of trash talking, letting his words get to me and saying I didn't have the guts were just a big bluff! He had the cash, but didn't have the skill to be in a pool hall. I see him once in a while now, and when I do, he never tries to show off, nor talk trash anymore.

Last night I had one of my best league nights ever. I whooped my teammates on points so bad that they became visibly upset (up until last night they were both better than me). I was trying to figure out why I did so well and I noticed that I wasn't even nervous all night. My hands weren't even sweating. Even when I was running out I put down the 8 without even thinking, but before I had a problem with choking.

So here's the question to those who don't mind revealing a bit of weakness...: What, if anything, gets you nervous whilst playing pool?

Is it the money? The rep? The competition? For me I think I get nervous when I've had a bad practice or a bad game. After that I lose confidence in my skills and I start to sweat myself on every shot.

watching bobby cox leave tim hudson in the 9th with 112 pitches when are ace closer is ready to go. What a loss
