what things need to be changed on the ladies tour? the sow wants to know; who should be added to their board? questions with no answers

an accu stats deal to watch more matches than just the tv rounds would be cool. other than that i have no idea. i've never played on the tour

the only suggestion I have is they need to do a better job of marketing. The stands are usually pretty empty. I would like to see some of the top players arrive in town a couple of days early, make the rounds of the local tv news shows, hit a couple of morning radio shows, get some adds in the local papers, and generate some excitement designed to bring in more local spectators. It is unfortunate that a tour stop can come and go, and the only people who know about it are the players, and the hard core fans.

And really give back to the sport.
I feel some don't give back to the sport .

The wpba need to do something to make people come out and watch .

Pool is trying to find way to get better let the women of wbpa play in more open men tournments,

Just so we can see if Kelly can beat the big name men pro's i'll
love to see that..

The women have plenty of opportunities to play in open tournaments against the men, just as long as it doesn't conflict with their WPBA obligations. Karen used to play in a lot of open tournaments, and was always a threat to win. I saw Belinda playing in a very strong field last year as the only female in the field. Her only loss was to Varner

And I can tell you than anyone who can run a rack, or string racks of 9-ball together with any regularity can beat anyone else. Kelly is quite capable of holding her own with anyone on the table.

IMHO I think it would do well to have some events as open registration events. The WPBA have far too few qualifiers in many areas allowing new talent to get into the mix. The only many can is if they have huge money behind them and so few talented woman do.
If they mix it up by having some events open to all woman, non members higher entry possibly, more players equal more viewers equals more money and more visibility.

Its a good start.

It wouldnt hurt to do have some charity events performed then marketed as giving back to the comunity! Also, I owuld say that marketing was their strong point for a long time nut it seems to have weakened. Better marketing campaigns would help but isnt by iteself the one thing that will improve things for them, its a combination of things.

People watch woman players because they look good to the fellas for the most part, men are watched because the games can be exciting and fast paced.................another key item is to excite the viewers and potential fans by giving them something thrilling.................if this happpens, the WPBA viewership would grow by leaps and bounds.

Marketing gimmicks work if done properly and timed correctly! Sometimes a little controversy draws crowds as well. Thats why so many actors leak stories to the press............it gains them popularity and press thus more fans!

Like other posters have already stated, maybe advertising locally before a tournament. This might draw spectators that otherwise may not hear about these events.
But hell!!!! A better question might be, what can the MEN do to get a tour going? I know there is a player base, let's stop shooting ouselves in the foot each time it gets going.

Both of these- smarter/ better promoting, and opening up more tournaments.
