What pocket size is considered tight on a snooker table?

I'm have a 10' Annivesary snooker table that I'm planning on tightening the pockets on. The pockets are currently 3.5". Will be using 2 1/8" snooker balls and there will be a lot of golf played on it. What would be a good tight size?

Oh great - another Snooker table ruined - for golf and indemity:frown:

If you must - the typical size is BARELY larger than the ball.

Was this table set up for 2-1/8" balls? otherwise the cushions may bounce funny.
Std snooker set is 2-1/16" and pockets would be 3-1/4", pro cut would have no undercut and "club" tables would have some undercut.

Templated pockets on World Snooker are 3-1/2" at the fall of the slate and they are using 2-1/16" balls. Club tables over there are normally around 3-5/8" at the fall. I borrowed a set of IBSF Templates to have my table done about 2 months ago.

3.313" or 84mm to be exact on a tourney table, slate drops not the same as a club table so templates will align differently.

I would think, given he and the table are both located in Indiana, and it is
a 5 x 10 Anniversary, the table is almost certainly an American Snooker
table. So, standard size balls are 2 1/8.

The "game"(golf) he wants to use it for, typically has pocket openings
of around 2 1/4. And they use the much more rounded cushion ends as
on an Americah table, which makes potting much more difficult than on
an English(International) table with the same size pocket openings.

We had plenty of Brunswick Anniversaries in Canada in the past they were the table of choice back then in both 6x12 & 5x10, they were cut like English tables and of course used standard 2-1/6" balls, were these available in the US?

I supose one could have bought one if determined - but they were for
the Canadian market, not US. Snooker was much more popular back in the
era of the Anniversary(prior to Gold Crowns) and in some areas Snooker
tabels were common in commercial rooms - I only ever saw the American
version - rounder pocket openings - triangular cushions, like on every other
cuesport table in the world but the British style ones- and set at the
proper height for 2 1/8 in balls.

Back in the golden age 20s 30s, in larger cities 6 x 12 tables were common.
These had the same rounder, much more demanding pockets with bigger balls.

I often wonder how many 147 clearances we would see on those tables.
