This was the part that I thought was the saddest…..I also think it played a HUGE part in the performance we saw from the US team this year….
Our players did NOT HAVE FUN! They really looked miserable from day one until the final match…. I rarely if ever looked at an American and thought to myself.. "They are really enjoying this experience".
Does that matter…. yes sir it does….. these are guys who have grown up mastering a game… they have talent beyond that of normal humans.. For many of them the pool table has been a safe haven in which they felt excepted and appreciated…..and in this context (the MC)………the game they have all loved and been blessed by was simply NOT FUN……
Until we can find a way to change that simple dynamic.. We will not have a successful MC Team!
