So I'm pretty sure with 100 views and no responses this is going to take some time to identify. Well I'm going to take the risk and go buy it tonight anyway. I'll post some better pics up when I get it home. I appreciate any help identifying this.

probably an SL 5
approx retail $$650.00 + / -
try Troy / Koinkid, He posts here, ALSO Has an ebay store
He will get you a great deal, ON A BRAND NEW SCHON ;)

I picked up the cue tonight. It looks like I'm definitely going to need to send it away to get the end of the butt below the wrap refinished and the two shafts as well, I will try to get more pictures up tomorrow. I noticed though that the "Schon" is etched in the collar on the shaft rather then on the shaft and the "S" in Schon on the butt seems more curly then the current models; I don't know whether that helps date the cue at all.

My closest guess is very close on the model number, and according to the engraved logo on the shaft collars this would date probably mid-late 90's.

I'm also guessing the joint pin is a little different than the typical.

What SHOULD make this cue easy to sell with a refin is the fact the veneer colors are NOT common. In fact, never seen a 4 pointer with veneers like that.

Cool cue,and bet it hits good. Tommy D.

If I'm not mistaken, that's an Acme pin, only used in 1992? That would make it an SL5, if I'm not mistaken; the ST and SL lines were combined later.

Thanks for all of the input guys! A friend suggested that I send it away to Proficient to get restored, does anyone know if they do good work?

I've heard their guy is the best there is. Don't remember his name, maybe I got it wrong; but if you do a search for proficient, I think you'll see a bunch of threads about their repair work.

UPDATE........Okay, I just looked it up...he's Scot Sherbine, and apparently he does fantastic work...there's tons of examples here on AZBilliards in other threads.

I sent it out to Proficient to be refinished about two days ago, as soon as it gets back I'll be sure to post refinished pics. Still don't know what cue it is though. I'm planning on sending some pics out to Schon when it gets back to see if they can give me any info.

Sent my old Schon to Evan Clarke (Schon) for refinish a few months back. It took about a month...looks like new.
