I had run the rack up to this point last night, to go hill-hill. Very similar to what the OP's layout was. It was a tough out, and I was fortunate and proud to make it out (I cut the 9 into the corner). :grin-square: Unfortunately I left a hanging 2 on the next rack and never saw the table again. :frown:

Why don't you just play safe? You don't have to make the ball.
The rule behind safes is that when you have a large percent to miss the ball with not much reward, play safe. I would personally get fairly straight in shape on the 9 and either draw back or follow down the rail.
It's not a tough shot. You just gotta shoot it smoothly.

i like playing position to bank the 9 cross side and go 3 rails (maybe 4) with the cue ball for shape on the 10. its not really a difficult bank and if you miss, you may leave a tough out for your opponent.
