I played in leagues for years where players could sandbag by missing a lot and even lose some games but they would still win the race. In Bca the only way to sandbag is to lose the game and almost every game you lose hurts the team.
I think the drama from other leagues comes from the fact that the players are much much weaker outside of the BCA and they're ignorant to the way the pool is supposed to be played with class.
Also when you're playing a race to three or more there's going to be a lot more drama when it goes hill hill over some foul or rule where is in the BCA no one really gets too upset if they lose one game to a guy and you only play one game against each player in the weekly league format.

thanks for sharing your experience and I would like to share mine in bcapl after I address your comments in each paragraph.
1. There is some truth to what you said about how it was years ago. Apa addressed that problem last year by changing the scoring system .
In 8 ball a shut out is worth 3 points to your team and the opposing team gets zero.
A win and your opponent won at least one rack gets your team 2 points and the opposing team zero.
A win where your opponent got to the hill gets your team 2 points and the opposing team gets 1 point. How does the above curb sandbagging you ask ?
Imagine you are in tri cups or higher. Last match your team is down 7-5 and you are a 5 facing another 5 in a 4-4 race. You just cant go out there and run up innings and win 4-2 ....4-3 or whatever like under the old system. You gotta bring your a game and shut your opponent out 4-0 giving your team 3 points for an 8-5 win even though your team only won 2 out of the 5 matches. I have been there and done that . No win i ever had in bcapl's points based format ever compared to the pressure packed match such as I described above.
2. Class ? I have played apa...bcapl...napa and several money leagues. Every one of them had a few assholes and nits. As the saying goes.....there is at least one bad apple in ever basket.
3. Drama ? I have 1275 matches in apa over a 7 year span. I van only think of 6 drama filled incidents. 2 from one captain ...2 from another captain and 1 each from 2 sore losers.
Something come up. I will share my bcapl experience later
