What tool?

I want a tool for installing tips. Which of these tools would work better for matching a tip to the ferrule. The porper cut-rite, mushroom grazer, or the little shaver. I want to do a professional looking job installing my new tip.

Don't waste your money. No matter how careful you try to be, you'll either throw them out and go have someone put your tip on for you, or chew up your ferrule.

Willard's tip machine works fairly well, but it isn't cheap...it's still no lathe, but it'll do the job well if you're careful.

bottom line is the tip is arguably the most important part of your cue. which is why you'd be best advised not to try and cut corners/save pennies.

I have a Cut-Rite and it works great for me. One end shaves the sides of a mushrooming tip, the other shapes the tip. However, I've quit putting my own tips on so I don't know how it works on a freshly installed tip that's bigger than the ferrule.

IMO, if you are only installing single layer tips (ie LePro) you can use a willards or even do it with no machine. You just have to be careful.

If you are using new multi-layer tips, you should get a lathe or farm out the work. Ruining a few Mooris or Snipers will quickly convert you to a lathe. But ruining a whole box of LePros won't hurt your pocket book. As a last resort, you could rig a lathe using a drill, a rest, and a lathe pin for your shaft.

One tip (no matter what direction you go) - always use a brand new razor for trimming.
