I was just wondering as i am looking to have a cue made that is similar to hers, do any of you know for sure what the wood is?,i have heard tulipwood, cocobolo, goncala alves, pau ferro, and even red heart.

Thanks for the pic,i also am looking at the Southwest from Pool Hall Junkies and it looks like the cue he shoots with at the end is the same Southwest as Ga Young Kims, but hers has black leather wrap which i heard she had put on the cue,i wonder if its the same cue design,it looks exactly like it besides the wrap.(?)This hunt is getting interesting.

I'd figure out what you're willing to spend. Then check some of the cuemakers who post here sites. Get an idea what they charge, then show them the pics. They can probably tell you for sure what the wood is and give you a price on something similar. But don't expect to get an exact copy, cuemakers are peculiar when it comes to copying other cuemakers work, especially if a well known player uses the other cuemakers design. But the wait for a Southwest is also really long. Ga's cue looks pretty basic so they may not see much of a problem. I think Sherm does a lot of cues with tulipwood.

Thanks, yes i dont want an exact copy but definately the same woods, each cuemaker has there own touch like rings and whatnot.I will probably have Greg Kucharski from CT do it,hes close by and i already own one of his cue,his cues hit just as good as any ive played with and thats alot,SW,Gilbert, Phillippi, you name it and his hits just as well, his cues are very reasonably priced also, you can check out his work at www.gregskues.com ,thanks again for the reply.

He has some nice cues there. Just so you have options Mike Webb who posts here is in Rhode Island and I love the way he does short/long points.

Tough to be certain but bloodwood may also be an option.

I didnt even think od bloodwood, but i still have no definate answer to the question but tulipwood seems to be the one i assume.

i believe the SW she is using is a Goncalo over Ebony SW. But i am not an authority on SWs.

If u want to get a SW fast, Roy is a good source and is reliable. or Vince Tedesco. but be prepare to be set back ard 2k for ur cue.

Peter Ohman made quite a couple of SW knockoffs for the Taiwan market, down to the pin and taper... u may want to consider him.

i have never ever seen a bloodwood SW b4, but i am not an authority on SWs...heard ard 140 SWs passed ur hands last year.. have u ever seen one chady?

Thanks for the links titlistsucker,i went through them and saw alot fo nice cues, this is the one i found that looks like the one down to the leather wrap.
