What wood is this?

Sorry for poor (and small) pictures. I was thinking maybe zebrawood in the forearm, but is butt sleeve the same? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yea, looks like zebra wood to me. Picked up a nice piece today..

I thought it was Bocote when I saw just the butt sleeve. But after seeing the forearm I think it is Zebra also.

I have some affinity for zebrawood and also blue veneers, so this cue hits a couple points for me.

I am not sure I like zebrawood used in the points as well as forearm, another wood might look better. In fact I tend to shy away from most designs that use the same wood in the points instead of a contrasting wood.

I have a zebrawood into maple full splice double butterfly with veneers blank sitting for years. Eventually I need to get it built into a cue.

All that is just aesthetics and personal preference. I appreciate your eyes on this.

That's possibly still a question.

Is the butt sleeve perhaps not zebrawood? Maybe bocote? The points should generally match the butt sleeve in my opinion, even in a short splice. The points look zebra. So if the butt sleeve is not zebra, it's just a strange or different design I guess.
