This was it. Never should have sold it. My Scruggs by Bob Frey! I call it that. Bob built this one and a couple more for me using Tim and Mike's pre tapered parts left over from when Tim closed the shop..
Much like one of Mike's Cues I didn't want any metal in these Cues.

Hi Nick
Beautiful cue. But it's short spliced. Mr. Scruggs and Cochran did not construct thier own full splice cues.

If two different Azer’s were involved, I could easily imagine how this thread could go sideways.
How many times has it happened on the Az Forum. Fortunately two very decent, civil minded
Azers are involved and there is bound to be a some clarification about full splice vs. short splice
cues made by these esteemed names in cue making. I understand the technical difference but is
there really one in the way the cue plays. I do not have enough first hand experience to comment.

Every Cue makers construction methods are his signature.
Does it matter in the overall discipline a maker follows. Yes Sir it does.

Hay Mike

I really got to call you! Here is the Frey full splice. I was going to keep it then had a chance to get the Cue made for me posted here. I shouldn't have sold this custom no wrap. Tim and Bob really also used a custom splice 5/8 inch into the handle. I say used because Bob probably isn't completing to many more custom Cues.
Stay safe good buddy,
Nick ;)

Always a pleasure to talk to you Sir.
The 5/8" into the handle was later changed by Mr. Cochran.
