I have an antique BBC "Homewood" table with ball return.

The slates have wood at the pocket drops so I would assume a good mechanic could make new pocket drops to extend the shelf farther into the pockets, then extend the subrail and install new k66 rubber to tighten the pockets "The right way".

Or.. would you just buy a Diamond Pro? I do like the antique, do you think if I had the above done to the antique table it would play similar to a Diamond?

Thanks for your time?

Hmmm...first of all, it's easier to talk about getting someone to do that kind of work, than it is to actually FIND someone to do it. Second, only a Diamond plays like a Diamond. It's more than just the pocket openings and slate shelf, as it has a lot to do with the placement of the 4 rail bolts per rail, the frame of the table, the Dymondwood top rails...so I guess the overall construction of the table is what I'm trying to say. Your request is kind of like asking what can a person do to make Championship Tour Edition play more like Simonis 860 instead of like Championship. That's easy...replace the Championship cloth with Simonis...then it'll play just like Simonis 860...LOL

PS. Your table has K55 profile rail rubber on it...LOL

Have you thought about a Gabreil spelling seems close they make several models with tight pockets and the wildest looking base frames and leveling systems with steel not wood.
