I found a nice used brunswick hawthorne 9 ft table i bought last year. Its a "furniture grade table", so its meant to look nice in the home, its supposed to have gold crown slate and bumpers but i dont know for sure. The table was apart when i bought it and its not been set up yet, setup and cloth is going to run me 500. Ok my local pool room closed down last year and the owner called me recently and offered to give me what i have in my table ($800), towards one of his used kim steele tables. He will sell me the steele set up with cloth for 2000, so i would give him my table plus 1200. So do i trade for another 1200, or spend another 500 on my table for cloth and setup. Let me say i take my pool seriously and quality of play is more important than looks. Would the steele be that much better of a table or just stick with what i got?

Just my thoughts , he has a buyer for the hawthorne , and he knew where there was one available possibly with yours , the tables are probably comparible in price if your hawthorne is in comparible condition. But you may actually be happier with the commercial table for the playability. I would offer him this deal , $1,000 and simonis 860 cloth.
