What's a case worth?

I have someone who wants to trade me an It's George 1x2 case. He says it's alligator. Not sure if it's real alligator or just a print.

Can someone give me a quick education on what to look for. How to tell if it's real alligator? And what an approximate value would be.

Vast odds are it's embossed leather made to look like an alligator. There were some vinyl cases too - usually stamped with a "V" on the bottom. Value is somewhere around $150 I would say in excellent condition.

I was selling new old stock 1x2 two years ago for $125-135. I would say $100 to maybe up to $140 if it's brand new and only then if it is embossed leather (not vinyl).
