What's the best spot (stickers, marker, etc)

What's the best type of spot to use. I traced a dime with a sharpie, but it's fading away rather quickly. I've had the sticker spots in the past, but they don't seem to stick very well. Any suggestions?

Spots eventually lift on the edges over time. They should be replaced before the dimple inside gets deep. That area should be brushed well then gone over with a dry damp cloth. I just wet them then roll a ball all over the spot in all directions with firm pressure. Once done I've never had a problem.

Hal,

I use the same as my table mechanic uses on the 70 bar boxes he services

permenant marker spot +

Is that also the best thing for marking the rack and other markings for 14.1?

We use the lick and stick Masters spots on the hard break tables (9 ball tourn, league play, etc) and the peel and stick spots that come on the card for the other tables. The peel and stick don't seem as thick and don't throw the slow-rolled balls off as much (one hole players are always *****in'). We still replace them almost weekly to avoid the hole in the cloth and the peeling up problems.

I just trace around the spot with a sharpie. Then there's no problem with the sticker coming off or affecting a shot. I've never had any problem with one fading.

I used a black sharpie on olive colored cloth. It doesn't take very long to start blending in. I'll experiment with different color sharpies. What are some opinions on tracing the rack?
