Everyone does now and again, but you my friend are playing some good pool. Won't be long till you start winning those tournies. Don't I recall you winning a Ring game a few months ago? LOL

One Week

have you ever met someone who had played decent and then a few monthes or years later their playing ability dramatically increased? was it from natural talent for the game or hard work? any stories would be great

How about 1 week? One of our kids (about age 20) was playing "okay," but not great. He could win some, but it was hard work for him. He really wanted to be able to beat Mom and Dad. He tried to learn from us, but you know... the mom and dad thing that kids go through.

Anyway, we went out and bought the Idiot's Guide after we saw it had some great advice that might make it easier for him to understand some of the shots and the strategies. It worked. That boy didn't put down the book for the whole week, except for practice time, when he put his newfound knowledge to work.

At the end of the week, he signed up for the local 9 ball tournament. He was still having to focus hard on his shots, but his games were extremely intense. The whole pool room would go quiet, sometimes, while waiting on him to make a shot. He won the tournament and has played much more competitively, ever since.

All it took was finding the right "teacher" at just the right time.

Tony Watson-----when he was 12 (looked 9) he was good.

At 16 (looked 12) he was REAL good....

Vita also improved a lot between the ages of 19 and 21.
