what's the going rate on ivory

Robert Harris posted some photos of two large tusks of ivory and he may be able to give you some idea of the going market rate.

A small tusk like that for material use should bring around $100 to $125 per pound.

Up to one year and about $100,000, I think that's about the going rate.
... but that's only if you get caught

The price could be slightly less than the 100-125 estimate depending on the length of the "hollow" at the base of the tooth. Also, are there deep cracks or is the tusk mostly without surface cracks?

Irregardless of condition, someone would be interested if the gentleman can provide some proof of its legal entry to the U.S.
