I play on the bar boxes twice a week, league and 9 ball every Thurs nite. I play on the 9 foot tables about once a month.I like using a 19 oz cue but when I get out on the 9 foot table, I seem to lose the cue ball some on my shape. Can anyone relate to this? Should I try abit heavy cue? I have been playing for about 15 years and am a B player I guess.

Thanks,
Steve

i have tried a 21oz cue before and man that thing was heavy, my preference is an 18oz cue or 19oz, the cue i think i am using now is an 18. For your question i couldn't tell you what you should do, but give a heavier cue a try and if it feels better FOR YOU then by all means.

Check to see if your cue has a removeable weight bolt. then you can try differrent legnth/material weight bolts to adjust your cue....Gerry

Just an idea. Try a cue with a larger diameter butt. I play bar boxes with a rather narrow butt Jacoby. I play larger tables (14.1 and 1 pocket) with my Scruggs, which has a larger than average diameter butt. Both cues weigh between 19 and 19.5 oz. and are forward weighted. For me it makes a difference.
