It looks like the site maintainers are doing maintenance.
Drop the "www" stuff (it's not needed anymore in web browsing these days, anyway) and just point your browser to:
http://insidepoolmag.com/
You'll see that you get redirected to a page that points to an online backup (e.g. "insidepoolmag.com/wp-content/w3tc/pgcache/_index.html.gzip").
My guess is that the site maintainers are doing some sort of site maintenance, and have temporarily pointed incoming visitors to an online [gzip'ed] copy of the site.
Give it some time and visit it later in the day.

Going to the link you provided gets the same result I have been getting for the past week.
and actually a lot of the time you don't need the http:// either for the address bar in modern browsers.
When posting links I like to post the whole link unless I know that the forum/posting platform supports autoformatting of the link.

You're talking about browser- and vBulletin-specific shortcuts. The fact that you don't need to include the http:// prefix (nevermind the www hostname) is a browser shortcut. And, the fact that you can just type in website names (that begin with "www") without the http:// prefix into posts here on AZB and have those automatically become links when the post is posted, that is a vBulletin shortcut.
When I wrote that the "www" stuff was no longer needed these days, I was talking about the Domain Naming System (DNS) on the Internet. People think that a website name "must" begin with www. It doesn't. Without getting into a long techie discussion, suffice to say that, as a former DNS administrator and "grounds keeper" for some pieces of the Internet backbone, I'm revealing to you that you don't have to anchor your website at "www" anymore. You can call it anything you want, and in fact, even a hostname itself is not needed. You can anchor your website right at the domain name -- no "www" needed. In fact, there's an RFC (Request For Comments) and IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) standards document on it -- they're trying to get away from the Romper Room-ish "dubya dubya dubya" stuff. I'm just too lazy to go dig it up.
And whenever giving people links/URLs, even though I nix the "dubya dubya dubya" stuff, I *always* include the http:// prefix, because you never know what vBulletin, email software, people's browsers, etc. are going to do (or not do) with the link. I like to force it.
So for me (as a former DNS administrator and Internet backbone grounds keeper, mind you), this is the most correct:
http://jbcases.com/
But at the user level of some company's website services (as you are, John -- hostgator.com and softlayer.com in your case), you wouldn't know, because the underlying DNS maintenance is shielded from you.
Back on topic with the OP, it looks like the Inside Pool website must be down for the count. I don't usually go to that website on a frequent basis, so I'd suggest the OP contact Inside Pool and let them know. The web page that is displayed at http://insidepoolmag.com/ has a "Contact" link with a form you can fill out, to let them know of the problem. I find it hard to believe that noone at the Inside Pool offices would not know their website is down, but hey, in these financially-constrained times, they could be down to a skeleton crew.

I doubt IPM is going away. JR Calvert always finds a way to stay alive in the industry.

Well, when I said "down," I meant that the normal version of the page isn't showing up. Many folks, upon seeing a stripped-down page like that, won't even bother -- they'll quickly abandon it, with the assumption that "something's wrong."
You definitely would know JR Calvert better than I, as the only way I would know of contacting him is via the stripped-down website itself ("Contact" link). I'll do that, but perhaps you might want to send him a personal note?
