Hey ... Joey ... ya got good taste in ferrules.

Ivor-X is my preference with fancy acrylic a close second.
Linen based material for joints, LBM for butcaps but sometimes a nice hardwood.

Old Schon yellow Micarta...

I just happened to be able to acquire about twenty of the old, yellow Micarta ferrules that came directly from Bob Runde. Guess he took a few with him when he sold his stake in the company, and I was lucky enough to get some for myself. Second is the old Aegis, that I guess is not out there anymore. Next is buckhorn. Next would have to be ivory. Then Elforyn.

What does anyone think about MPI? Ever use it? What abou the Micarta available from Blatt?

I am not a cuemaker but I have a cue on the way with ivory in all three. I have mostly ordered cues with ivory ferrules and joints, with the exception of jump/break cues, but this will be my first ivory butt cap.

I've gotten better at controlling my temper but I will definitely have to make sure that I don't slam the butt of my cue on the ground after dogging a shot or getting a bad roll, rubber bumper or no!

I like the natural materials

Ivory ferrule is a must, Ivory joint (some are buckhorn) usually is all I play with ( but my Southwest is my main player- it hits amazing) and most all of my cues have an ivory/ waterbuffulo horn/ buckhorn buttcap.

Ferrules LBM OR IVORY. JOINT IVORY LBM OR COCOBOLO WITH RADIAL SS PIN . BUTTCAP DELRIN YOU JUST GOT TO MAKE IT SHINE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ceromeld/ivory/anything but delrin.

btw,,,i'm not a qmaker but i'm giving my opinion anyway. i wouldn't want v.s. to think i was leaving people with the impression i was a qmaker, heaven forbid.
