When applying english (sidespin) do you strike the CB straight through the contact point or do you angle in back toward center of the CB during your stroke.
Or in other words is your stroke parallel to the center or is the stroke line running on on angle perpendicular to the center?
Thanks

For me, it's parallel to the shot line to outside of parallel when I use BHE (most of the time)... but never back towards the center of the CB, which would result in less side spin than the contact point would indicate.

I do neither...I set for dead center ball on every shot....then I move the tip up, down, or sideways
for the spin....I am deliberate about this and warm- up stroke from this position....
...some players do it all on their final stroke (cross-stroking).

I want the tip to go WITH the spin....so with right english, the tip finishes even farther to the right.

+ I compensate for deflection if needed.

Same thing pt109 does i think, practice stroke around center, then veer the tip off quickly whike taking my shot. But when shooting down rail i tend to shoot the parralel line
