When did Lucasi start making cues?

There is very little info on the early years of Lucasi. Maybe the anti-China vibe. Can't even get a date they started.

MID 1990'S Lucasi started
overseas -
Supposedly,
Bill Stroud was paid BIG $$ TO Supervise the whole setup-
from machinery, wood selection, and cue construction, etc
I KNOW those early st joint cues were inexpensive and played AWESOME

I 1st remember Lucasi cues from the mid to late 90's, when I assume that Buddy Hall had Lucasi build him a line of Buddy Hall signature cues, that had his signature in the forearm.

They were very nice cues.

Those initial Lucasi's were AWESOME (they still are). Affordably and high quality. I know a guy who has had his...I guess 20 years..and has babied it and made a lot of money with it. The shaft, after 20 years of seasoning and slow tapering, hits so good. From a playability standpoint, REALLY impressive.

I read that Bill Stroud was also the creator of the Universal Smart Shaft technology and design, and trained the cue makers over in China who make Universal cues. I guess the Universal cues might be made in the same factory that Lucasi cues are made.

Bill Stroud publicly announced on AZB a while back that Predator and Lucasi are in the same factory!
I like the Lucasi brand a lot. I am currently shootin with a Lucasi Lux 30 & Cuetec Cynergy, I could not be happier.

Trent, no insult intended, but it is the new Lucasi's that I don't like. And that is due to their looks only.

Older lucasi cues had an old-school charm for me. They sorta reminded me of early Meucci designs.

Hopefully, the image attached to show an old Lucasi butt. The cues with the wood rings collaring the inlayed ringz iz sweet.

Nice cues. And a world of difference between the quality of construction now, versus when they were originally made. And it’s not the older ones that were built better....

What model is that , I had a Meucci that reminds me off years ago , minus the rings of course. I seen one of the Buddy Hall sig cues for sale yesterday . Asking 200 bux but looked really nice.

Are people surprised and pissed off about this, too? This is typical contract cue manufacturing. Been happening for decades.

From my post, I obviously am good with it. I can't speak for anyone else. Cornerman, this has nothing to do with Deanoc's bull$hit.

I was clear about liking my Lucasi!

my first real cue was a lucasi, black forearm, white points, with white and black irish linen. I loved that cue. don't remember what happened to it, if I sold it, or was stolen.

That is one of the newer Lucasi cues, with a Zero Flex LD shaft I assume. The newer Lucasi cues hit so much nicer then the older ones, in my opinion. Much sharper looking too. Lucasi became a really high end production cue.

I've had my Lucasi cue for 10 years now.
It's still straight.
The finish shines like new.
There are no bad vibes or noises of any kind.
There was a noise once and it was a loose weight bolt.
Fixed that with a dab of epoxy.
I paid $250.00 for it and couldn't be happier.
