When do you play your best?

It depends

I normally hit a few balls around to judge the table and then as Big John McCarthy says "Let's get it on"

I need my coffee in the mornings and then I'm ready.

Practicing, tournaments or leagues are all about the same...I shoot to win. I don't gamble much but I suppose I shoot the best in that scenario or in tournaments......I concentrate a little harder.

My biggest obstacle is playing someone that i know i am better. I tend to play down to the competition sometimes.

My favorite situation is teams or partners, I shoot looser and have more fun since i know if i dog it there is someone else that can pick up the slack
 
your giving yourself bad habits practicing like that,you will play in spurts and you need to play serious to learn,and learn to win!
you need to play against someone tough to beat then youll learn, then when he has to go either quit or play the best player u can find!
 
I make my best shots during practice as I am always going for the shot instead of a safety regardless of whether it's a bank, kick or very tough shot.

I play my best during tournaments and I think I play my worst in the league.

I haven't bothered playing for money for a very very long time, but during those games I would play my absolute best when they would get pissed off after missing a shot. When that happened it was like something clicked in my head that said "I got you know".
 
When I forget about the score or the ramifications of any particular shot. In other words when I am in the present and not thinking about the outcome.
 
Good music definitely is helpful to me, as long as I don't pay more attention to the music than the game, I think. I'm not normally bothered by music I don't like or by sudden lack of music (unless it gets so quiet I can hear the balls rolling).

My own little world. This tends to happen when there is money or bragging rights on the line. I hate losing, i've been competitive all my life and losing in pool [even when I know mentally I should because this kid can lay packs and I cant shoot out of a wet paper bag]. When I get into that mindset I just throw my headphones in, and random the ipod. Forget the opponent forget the stakes, forget everything but making the best decisions and best shots that I can take in that moment.

Also when I play at my 'table speed' in terms of shooting quickly, i'm extremly fast paced in this game, and people tell me to slow down and think it through and I begin to second guess myself and i usually pick the wrong option. haha but yeah money and an opponent whose a douche generally assist in me going to my world to play.

I play my best when I am gambling.
