Any Tournament I've played in the fee's were free to bring in business. If I had to pay one or the other give me the Green Fee's. Quaters seem so OLD FASHION....

Bar tables

All bar box tournaments around here, you put quarters in (.75 a game).

But, I would prefer a green fee.

The amazing thing about Quarters is so many times in the Valley they have saw a 500 Dollar Add tournament, everyone get all excited, but most of the players do not realized how much those quarter add up to, and in many cases the venues (Rooms, or Bars) are adding nothing.

Easily green fees. 50 cent tables could be the only exception. Anything higher than that seems like a waste of money, even if you place in the top (except for maybe 1st). Good luck on finding 50 cent tables though in most parts of the country.

Didn't realize how good it is in this area. League play, the bar unlocks the tables, and many places here offer free pool on Sundays with the purchase of a drink...soft or otherwise...just to get a crowd in.

One place North of us...advertises in the pool press. Cindy & I stopped off for casual play once. For a 7' Valley, they expected us to plug 75 cents into the box, AND PAY $2 PER HOUR! We didn't stay long...
