When your family gives you a cheap cue you dont want, THEN WANTS IT BACK!

Get an old box case from pawn shop or Walmart. You know, the black box w/red interior and hang empty case on the wall in den, near mantle or near your fish/deer heads, (place of honor). Tell them you sent cue to famous casemaker, I mean cuemaker, (make up name), to refurbish the gem and you can't get it back!

After 17 years in prison, it is likely that he is still on parole. You have that going for you if you just tell him the unfiltered truth.

Then there is the truth with a little extra fabrication. You played with the cue once, it played like a tuning fork, so you tossed it out due to its low value.

Then there is the blatant lie. You sent it in to the cue maker to be refinished and he died.

Pick your poison. :grin-square:

OK , I've read all the replys , and they're all good!
I still think the kitchen sink is the way out. :)

thanks for the replies.

My plan was "honesty", but not offering more info than was necessary, which means I wasnt going to bring it up again, unless my wife (or someone) brought it up first.....

Well, the out of town guests left Sunday (two days early!) and no one ever mentioned the cue again.....

win/win :grin-square:
