Where am I????

Believe me...I've thought about it. Truth be told, though...I kinda like my kids, and wouldn't REALLY want to sell one on the black market to afford it. Granted, I'd still have the other two babies....but still.

Tony makes a phenomenal cue, to be sure. I have yet to own one that I didn't absolutely love (6 of them, all said and done). Those were easier times, and money wasn't so tight then. A new one, while no doubt being incredible, is so far out of reach, I can't even fathom the thought.

Thanks much, sir. I will continue to remember the good ol' days, and just hope that my ebony/tulipwood 6-pointer is in good hands, and in a safe, secure, loving home.

The BB's are up there in cost unless extensive work is needed. One thought is to try a 6-Point Vollmer. I have both a 6-Point BB (same one you saw when we hooked up and still clean) and now a 6-Point Vollmer (brand new shafts on this one and cue was restored to new). I can honestly say that I love the Vollmer slightly better over the BB (balance and feed back on the 6-pointers at least). Always welcome to test both cues for a comparison should you ever consider time on the felt. We can always hook up with Tom and enjoy a few games.

No worries about what I play with since my player is a Searing so both cues are Queens in the Safe.

Hiya Myron,

I saw that you picked up a Vollmer...and it's a BOLD statement to make about how well it plays. You would know, though...since you have both to compare. I came somewhat close to trying one out again...but it just didn't pan out that way. I am impressed with his work, and knew of a couple guys that played with his cues when I was stationed in Germany.

That was before my "CUSTOM DAYS"...so I wasn't too sure about the specifics. From what I've seen lately, though...he's come a LONG way.

I'll hook up with you once I come back from my extended tour, sir. It's been way too long since we got together for my painful lesson on the tables. I'll take the 5 and out from ya next go around, okay?? ;)

How do you know a cue plays well when you don't? Would you like to match up for a N. VA. King?
Purd (stirring it up a little.) They are both very nice guys.

Ouch!! A bit below the belt there, sir!! In my defense...I was sick that day, the sun was in my eyes, I had just broken my elbow, and my cue had a crack in the ferrule.

Otherwise, I would have EASILY beaten you 1 out of every 50 games....no question!! ;)

I love ya man. Your good to go in my book. I am quite sure your game has improved since our last meeting. How's Myron's game coming along?

Much love, right back at ya, sir. You're alright in my book, too! ;)

As for Alpine, I don't have a clue, sir. Myron and I haven't met up in quite awhile.

How about it, Myron....how's your game?? :)

My game is coming along real well. Finally stringing two balls in a row and won my first 9 ball game when I was after the 8 ball and the only reason I did not scratch was because the 9 ball was in the pocket openings. All kidding aside, having fun and working on my stroke with every chance I get. It is all about having fun!

Things have changed out in the Sterling area ? Bunglows in Sterling was sold and is now the Cove (hourly rates apply and too expensive to continue playing while other options exist). The new Bunglows is a few months (maybe this coming summer) away with build and permit issues going on.

As for the Vollmer cues, I can only say that the cue is a nice playing cue with almost the same feel of a BB. The Jet Black Ebony player is an exceptional playing cue with old growth shafts where it only takes a small amount of off center hits to induce English. With that small amount of English, controlling whitey is easier. Now the 6-point Vollmer arrived a few weeks ago and I can honestly say Michael Vollmer did me very well with this cue. It was restored to new condition, the original shafts remained in Germany as I received 2 new 13mm full shafts from Michael (exceptional quality). So as you compare hits, it is easier to compare a 6-Point BB to a 6-Point Vollmer and most of the folks who have tested the cues enjoy the Vollmer (again something about the balance and feedback). But as I said, I have a preference for the Searing with the half joint.

Hope all is well and will talk with you when you have time.

Sounds like a real nice cue, Myron....and sounds like Mr. Vollmer does some pretty great work. I look forward to seeing you again...and maybe you can let me take that Vollmer for a quick spin? I promise to not let my bad habits rub off on it!!!

You can always take both cues for a spin to compare but no rubbing body parts on it...

As for your search, wish I had the cue since more than likely I would have it still today (I a still one of the cast offs from your Cue Flippers Club).

Good luck with your search and stay safe on your trip.
Best to mommy and the kids.

Myron....Mark.....Don......I love you guys. You'll all three always be the best rackboys I've ever had. You always gave me good racks (and boy did you all rack a lot for me).

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year!

Matt

P.S. That was a pretty Black Boar cue Mark, but there are always more out there. I think you would get bored with just one cue for too long. I had a growing experience with my Klein as you remember, but now I'd be hard pressed to get rid of it, and Steve is starting on my second cue as we speak!

Matt,

You're right, sir. I did rack MANY a set for ya. Just a shame you could never break 'em up very well. I always offered to give you pointers on how to snap 'em open...but you were content with your 3-mile-an-hour CB speed. To each their own!! :) ;)

Good to hear from ya, boss. I miss seeing ya around the block. Been busy?

I'm heading out soon...but will give you a call before I punch out. My best to you and your family, chief. A very happy New Year to you, too!!

Mark,

Your break is naturally good and way better than mine. My weak break is why I had to learn how to shoot them in the hole so well. :)

I've been very busy, and we do need to touch base. I put on Tech tomorrow (finally). Jerry told me you had called him. happy new year to you and your family!

Indeed, sir. Tell ya what...I'll trade ya some shooting lessons for breaking lessons. Deal??!! :) ;)

I did talk to Jerry for a minute last week. It's a shame I can't make my way down there much anymore. Ever since the move, things have turned upside down with work.

I'll holler at ya soon, bro. Happy to see you're still around, swinging that Klein around!! Still one of the nicest cues I've ever seen!

He racks good...and when he's in stroke shoots GOOD too! He just works too much.....wants to make money or something. I just don't get it...

Heya Bryan,

That little girl of yours is beautiful, bro. She takes after her momma, I guess??!! :) :) Thank God, my little princess is the spitting image of her mom...so there's hope for her in the future.

Yep...I'm the most fierce racker this side of the Mississippi River. One of these days, I look forward racking 'em up for ya....once. After that, you might as well put that Phantom back in the case, so it won't get damaged leaning against the wall while you rack for me! ;)

Happy New Year to you and yours, bro. My best to ya.
