where can i find a long cue?

Long cue

Joe Sanko made what was called a lil joey
Maybe about a 10 inch extention
Used as a jump handle or screw the butt in for longer cue
Worked better than a bridge
Cost about 30.00

I couldn't agree more with scotty...I got lessons from Scott Lee after I bought my 60" cue. And taking what I learned I think I could've did fine with a standard cue. Also when you play at a bar for fun and you don't have the luxury of your cue it is hard use a house cue because they are usually 57". remember, I have a 76" reach as I stated earier; what is your bridge lenght? I shortened mine for various reasons. More controll on unwanted english and able to grip the cue closer to the balance point.

Words of wisdom from a guy that has a long reach, and uses a 60" cue.
 
The problem is that I don't know what length is right for me because I never played with more then 58"cue.
First I want to buy a 3" extension for the joint to see if the new length would be right and after that to order a new cue.
Now I have a cue with stainless steel joint with 5/16 * 18 PIN. Where can I find a joint extension?

Corsair made the extensions the guys in my area have. Any local cue maker should be able to make you one. Like I said before, it would be best if they had the cue so that they could fit it properly.

I don't have any local cue maker so I have to order on the internet but i don't know where. Give me a site of a cue maker who does that.

At 6' 8", you might want to consider going to you local cue maker and asking him. What part of the world are you?

If you want a longer cue you will want it to still be balanced. All I have read about balance and cues is to grip about 6" behind it. Now I myself was still gripping waaaay at the end of my 60" cue, but I had a 12-15 bridge(Scott Lee knows what i mean) I since choked up my grip hand to the proper area for good balance, and my bridge is about 8" now. i have way more control this way and I can utilize my 'Joseys' good balance.

So that is what i meant by by my earlier post

So make sure a long cue is what you really need. Don't forget longer cue means more deflection/squirt...!

At 6'8" tall, he definitely needs a longer cue...lol.
 
If I buy a cuetec cue with a 6'' butt extension will it work or this extension effects the feel of the shot??

What do you think is better:
1. a cuetec cue with butt extension or
2. a 64" schmelke cue??
 
Personally I would forget the extension thing. I never thought that Schmelky's were all that great. Hueblers are nice if you can find a suitable length.

If it was me, I would take up one of the cuemakers who have offered to build you one, or go to a cuemaker of your choice.

A sneaky pete would probably run you $150 to $250. Or, get a plain jane (no points or inlays) for $250 to $400. A good cuemaker can make a cue tailored to your shooting stance, height, arm lenght, etc....

I once shot with a 64 inch Joss West that was one of the best hitting cues that I ever played with...but it was just too long for me.

You'll have the lenght fo sure...too much probably. But you'll have to get used to the ackword balance.

I think that 64 inch cue would be enough, but I can't find anywhere excepting schmelke and qperfect.
Is there anyone else who makes such long cues?

viking. they can make any of their cues longer, it does cost extra but you should be able to get one for around $200. i have a 64" QP, and im 6'1". i can't believe at 6'8" there are people on this forum are trying to tell you that you should play with a 58" cue. maybe they should play with their jump cues, then maybe they'll understand.

I can get you a custom made 60 inch sneaky for 185 shipped. Nice figured wood. Well tell me what weight and wood you like. They will be plain with no ringwork or anything but nonetheless good players cues.
