Where do my diamonds go?

Newbie alert...first thread so if this should be in the table mechanics area i apologize!

I recently refurbished a 70's bar box dynamo pool table that had been in a building fire years ago. No real damage to the table other than the top laminated portion where the diamonds would be. Those pieces have now been replaced along with all the other refurbishing that was needed. This table now looks and plays great but i have no diamonds in place. I purchases new round aluminum diamonds i plan on inserting but other than measuring from another dynamo or bar box how do ensure the diamonds are in the correct spots?
 
Ok probably regret this but i can take the heckling. Really 200 views and nothing? Is the ? too stupid, not descriptive enough, or no body knows. So is the 1st diamond on the short rail 6 inches from what middle 12 ect ect or are the diamonds places on a degree angle from pockets n other diamonds? Just figure if i put the diamonds in the wrong spots then no point putting them on at all although i have been come a pretty good banker by feel and not using a diamond system
 
You are right....should have went to mechanics section. lol. But i will say to space them properly, you measure from middle of center pocket to the intersect line of the foot or head rail cushion nose.then divide that measurement by 4. That is your spacing. As for the proper distance from the cushion nose of the rail you are working on, im not sure.
 
6. Rail and Cushion

The rail width must be between 4 [10.16 cm] and 7 ½ inches [19.05 cm] including the rubber cushions. 18 sights (or 17 and a name plate) shall be attached flush on the rail cap with:

12 ½ inches [31.75 cm] from sight to sight on a 9-foot regulation table
11 ½ inches [29.20 cm] from sight to sight on a 8-foot regulation table.

The center of each sight should be located 3 11/16 (+ ) inches [93.6625 mm (+ 3.175 mm)] from the nose of the cushion. The sights may be round (between 7/16 [11.11 mm] and ½ inch [12.7 mm] in diameter) or diamond-shaped (between 1 x 7/16 [25.4 x 11.11 mm] and 1 ¼ x 5/8 inch [31.75 x 15.875 mm]). Any nameplates and score counters should be flush level with rail top. All rail bolts should be thus located that when properly torqued render a quiet and optimum rebound from any point of the cushion nose of the table.
