Where do your eyes look?

I don't think so. Do you have any written reference? The other factor is that people don't always do what they say (or believe that they do). How about youtube videos of snooker champs in which eye movement is clear?

One could do far worse than have the fundamentals of Alison Fisher. She is very, very methodical in her eye movement. She plays snooker fairly well. She does not do as you claim.
Hi Bob,

As you know I'm a snooker player and I always look at the object-ball when I take a shot. In fact, I don't know any other top snooker player who doesn't look at the object-ball.

Regards.

Alan.

When people say they are looking/focusing on the OB ball, are you really looking at the OB?

Reason I ask is that, for me, if I look at the OB, then my eyes are not in line with the direction of my cue/stroke. I look/focus on where the cue ball needs to be to make the OB. That way my eyes are inline with my stroke. I seem to stroke straighter this way.

I've noticed that when I'm playing, I look first at the CB and then when I'm comfortable that the mechanics are correct transfer my look onto the OB.

I've also noticed that when I'm playing really well i.e. in the Zone, I never look at the CB. I assess the shot while standing behind the line, get down and my eyes are always on the OB. I just seem to know where my hand needs to go, where my cue is aiming at the CB and the everything just falls into place. When I get this happening, I play the best pool of my life.

most will tell you that you should look at the object ball last. i dont necessarily agree with that myself. some will also tell you their preference is the cue ball.

however, it seems to me that if you are setup properly, aligned properly, aiming correctly, and stroke straight through the line then it doesnt make any difference what you are looking at. like a top level instructor told me once, "You can be looking at the blonde in the 4th row and if you do all of the above you will achieve shot success!"

DCP

Left eye to cueball, Right eye to OB, third eye to the blonde on the 4th row. (I'm part chameleon). :D

Every player whom I have ever watched the first thing I look for is what their eyes are doing.

Watch Earl on TV or tapes or whatever. You will see. It is very obvious.

I have watched Earl, very closely, on over a dozen tapes I have of his matches. I did so after someone claimed that Earl said he looked at the CB last. On every shot I found where you could clearly see his line of sight immediately before striking the CB he looked at the OB last.

There are a couple of close-up shots of him shooting when he played Bustamante in the 2002 WPC finals that clearly show him looking at the OB last, for example.

Do you have any specific examples from Accu-Stats tapes that clearly show him looking at the CB last?
